On Thursday, Aug. 4, a Cumberland County Jury returned verdicts of guilty against Pascual Matias, of Bridgeton, on sexual assault and child endangerment charges.

The charges originated from incidents that occurred between November of 2006 and November of 2009 in the City of Bridgeton and Greenwich Township, according to Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae.

The investigation was conducted by members of the Bridgeton Police Department and the Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office.

This matter was a retrial as it was previously tried, appealed and remanded for a new trial.

Sentencing is scheduled for Sept. 30.
